What is Humanistic Counselling ?

The two main approaches of Humanistic Counselling : Person Centred Counselling and Gestalt therapy.

Person Centered counselling  is based on the principle that most clients have the potential for growth and self- actualisation. When given the right conditions we are all capable of being loving, caring and knowledgeable individuals.
Humanistic therapy evolved in the 1950s and 1960s in the USA as part of a ‘human potential movement’.

Carl Rogers taught that the core conditions of unconditional positive regard, congruence and empathy are central to a person-centred approach.

Gestalt therapy; The word “Gestalt” means “organised whole”.

Gestalt therapy focuses on the here and now. What is the client feeling right now, exploring what is going on emotionally or physically and mentally in the moment at the session.

What is Energy Medicine/ therapy?

Energy Medicine encompasses quite a broad range of approaches for healing that centre around the human energy system, including the science of intuition

What is Bio Energy therapy?

Bio Energy Therapy is a gentle, non evasive treatment, based on an ancient Eastern form of healing which taps into the body’s energy system known as the chakra system. The chakra model allows energy therapists an easy way to understand and work with the energy field… All emotional and physical ailments can be treated by Bio Energy Therapy.

By detoxing and clearing energetic blocks, the therapist will then balance the energy body and the body will start to heal itself. Through different hand movements around the body, (very little actual touch), the therapist is trained with many techniques to tune into the clients energy field, pick up energetic blocks and clear the energy field. It can be very subtle whereby you may feel nothing at all and yet some people will feel it strongly. Some people will get emotional during or after a session. Even if you don’t feel anything the session can still be effective.

What is an energetic block?

An Energetic block is emotional energy that has not yet been processed, the unprocessed emotion remains in the energy field for a couple of years before entering into the physical body as an ailment. Our experiences either internal or/and external create emotional energy. These experiences can be both positive and negative, fleeting or long –lasting. They may relate to a past or present relationship, traumatic experiences and memories, belief patterns and attitudes, including spiritual and superstitious beliefs.

How does energy get blocked

Negative life experiences create emotions such as anger, fear, stress, resentment, guilt and sadness and these emotions if not dealt with at the time or close to the time can become trapped in specific areas of the physical body. Your emotions reside physically in your body and interact with your cells and tissues. Your Biography Becomes Your Biology.  Trapped emotions, often called energy blocks, create physical, emotional and mental disharmony.

Bio Energy therapy Releases negative blocks and brings balance to your energy system which in turn brings healing and balance to your body and mind. It is an extremely effective healing modality that releases stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, and negative emotions.

What can I hope to feel after an energy session

  • Tension is released along with everyday stress and initially you may feel tired or even uncomfortable this will pass
  •  You may feel a sense of calm and deep sense of relaxation and a renewed sense of vitality
  • The work Supports healing on all levels—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
  • Brings balance to your life, allowing you to enjoy a clear sense of purpose and direction.

Quantum physics defines human energy system as an electromagnetic field in and around the body which is generated by the body’s biological processes.

What is The Human Energy Field

Everything that is alive pulsates with energy and all of this energy contains information. Your physical body projects an energy field that extends as far as your outstretched arms and the full length of your body. It is both an information centre and a highly sensitive perceptual system. We are constantly ‘in communication’ with everything around us through this system.

Emotional energy contributes to the formation of cell tissue, and forms an energy language which carries literal and symbolic information. In this way, your biography–that is, the experiences that make up your life–becomes your biology. Your body contains your history–every chapter, line and verse of every event and relationship in your life. As your life unfolds your biological health becomes a living, breathing biographical statement that conveys your strengths, weaknesses, hopes and fears.

Every thought you have travels through your biological system and activates a physiological response. Some thoughts–like fear–are like depth charges, causing a reaction throughout your body; a loving thought can relax your entire body. Some thoughts are more subtle, and still others are unconscious. Many are meaningless and pass through the body like wind through a screen.

What is Intuition?

The skill of interpreting the language of human energy. Contrary to popular belief that strong intuitive abilities are a gift, I believe intuition is a learned skill that is based primarily on fully developed self-esteem.
